Life — enjoy the journey

It is often forgotten to enjoy the journey in anticipation of the destination. The metaphor is the same for life as well. We all look for the happiest destination, juggling through the journey and hardly ever realizing that the destination of life may not be that happy.

We all have a slight tendency to live in extremes. But that is what life throws at us. Life throws at us crap at times like disappointments, betrayals, loss, grief, unfathomable abyss, endoscopy, or ramshackle colonoscopy. One is lucky or fortunate if he or she can find someone who accepts the whole you, warts and all. If not, that is also fine, you are lucky and fortunate to focus on your side of the street. Your own issues that you can deal with peacefully, the only way that one can go about this is to keep the focus on oneself. Dance with the tune, you don’t need to look good to others for dancing in ecstasy. Let your spontaneity work for you, move your body, and dance for your own sake., Shift with the waves. Put some pep in all your steps. Fake until you make it. A spirited stroll can help you do that to fake until you make it. Lift the corner of your mouth, SMILE. Yes, smile, look at your shadow, look into the mirror. Yes, you need to love yourself and be happy and smile to yourself.

Are you lacking friendship? Does it bother you? If so find new friends, if not be a friend to yourself. Volunteer to help the needy, which is the easiest self-rewarding mental health trick for well-being and wellness. You got to write down every day, at least one thing that is good in your life, which in turn helps to look at the bright side and stay focused.

Feeling low, or grey or blue, move your body, it doesn’t matter where just moving it as short as five minutes to twenty minutes is enough to get that endorphin out. Are you holding on to your past or present grudge? Let go…forgive, if not forget…move on…Live and let live. This will help to free negative crap and make space for peace and tranquility the real inner blessings. Just close your eyes any time of the day, and see the inner space of peace and contentment, reflect, realize, and feel the joy. Are you getting enough sleep? Then you are the luckiest. If not do anything that suits you to get that shut-eye you badly need.

Why are we living? Is there a clarity of focus, purpose, meaning, and objective for anything you do? Yes, we need to have that sense of purpose, which is often lost in the rat race called life. Take a pause, reflect and realize. Connect with the superpower, Creator, and find your purpose.

That little voice in all our inner selves…did anyone hear that and have been ignoring it so far? Listen to that little inner voice that criticizes you, tells you something is wrong, or points out that life is not that great…do not ignore…because if you ignore, that little critic will take control of you, your moods, happiness, and depression.

Do you have a goal? Aspiration? And by the time you achieve, do you have another? Then you are on the right track. If not set your goals, ask yourself ‘Why’, ‘how’ and ‘what’ to reach your short-term goals and long-term vision. Check if it is realistic and achievable and what resources, preparation, and mission you need to reach there. Can you just start by focusing on yourself, what you eat, think, and do? Pat yourself for achievements and things that you have worked towards to it, as simple as getting up early, cooking and eating good food, or exercising for as short as ten minutes.

Surround yourself with positive people, good vibes, and emotions, and pass them on to others. Your association matters a lot for your feelings, emotions, vibes and to enjoy the journey towards your destination. Be honest with yourself. If you feel you cannot manage yourself, get help from a pro. Ask guidance from an expert, who is hands-off, mentor, coach, or guide, and see if it makes you feel better placed, and makes you focused and excited to work towards your goal. Help yourself, challenge your negative thoughts to replace them with positive, realistic ones. Jot down very positive self-statements, stick them somewhere and challenge yourself to reach there. Get motivating quotes and look at them to keep you motivated when you go down the spiral through self-defeating patterns of thoughts.

Are you friendly with your body? Or strive to have that beautiful magical ones in your perception, or the projected? Then get down. Increase a positive approach to your body. Feel comfortable in your skin. Exercise, get fit and healthy…that is all it needs to be confident about yourself.

Life’s perspective keeps changing with several of those personal experiences, changing family dynamics, situations, loss, grief, setbacks, and concerns.

On the slippery slope of life’s journey, understand the journey, where you stand in that journey, yourself, so that your inner self, core beliefs, and values do not get disturbed, challenged, or disabled. Develop a sense of being, present a mirror to yourself, the how and why of life, to withstand the test of time through threatened existence.

Start doing things by your choice instead of following the bandwagon senselessly. Is this a friendly universe? Your answer determines your life and its’ journey of all sorts because there is only one destination to that journey. You come alone and go alone….on the way whatever you get is a bonus.
